I have been having trouble with skype all day today and it seems I am not the only one. I have spoken to people in Austria, Germany, Canada and even Russia and they were also experiencing trouble…. Anyone heard anything official?

yes this is a global outage it seem (but difficult to assess that). since the mapping of the skype supernodes by http://www.coobol.com is gone.
but here in malaysia. no more skype for now. no connection. see more on my observational blog.

Thanks for the Info Dawn and Jan, I am not amused since I am using skypeIN and I do not receive ANY calls or VMs today

I’m using Skype as well, and have had problems off and on all day. I’ve got to say, though, that they are easily the best “phone” company I have ever done business with– this is the only significant problem I’ve had with them in over a year. I can’t say the same for any of the land-line or cell companies I ever dealt with!
